The new Bear offers chef-led homecooking, a rather splendid bar, original 50s & 60s dining furniture, and retro fixtures and fittings. Snowy, the well loved life size polar bear, still presides over the entrance.
We are open every day for lunch, delicious homemade cakes & cookies, great wine, local ales and dinner. Breakfast, eat in or take away, Monday to Friday from 8am. Try our popular Sunday Lunch each week from 12 noon until 3.00pm.
We welcome children, who can enjoy a special menu, their own vintage table & chairs, and wooden toys.
What else? Free WIFI, comfy sofas, large car park at the rear of the pub, covered smoking area at the back, new outside seating area, changing art displays, great monthly quiz (first Sunday of each month), set menu option at lunchtime, many events & parties.
We are also establishing ourselves as a live music venue with a fortnightly 'Open Mic' accoustic night that has contributors from the surrounding counties and we also feature local artists on selected Saturday nights, all dates are listed on our monthly 'What's on' guide.

Our expert pastry chef can produce a celebratory cake, and we're happy to prepare a special menu or you can choose from our three buffet menus suited to your budget.
